Please note: I work in person in central Surbiton on Tuesday late afternoons/early evenings, Wednesday mornings, and Friday late afternoons/early evenings. I work online on Tuesdays and Thursdays at various times, and I sometimes work online on the weekends.

I recommend having an introductory call before booking an online therapy session. If it’s your first session with me then please make sure you book the “First Online Therapy Session” or “First In Person Therapy Session”.

Introductory video calls are for around 15 minutes and it's an opportunity for you to ask any questions you may have. We'll briefly talk about what brings you to therapy. These are free.

Therapy sessions are 50 minutes long. Payment is required at least 24 hours before the session time. You will be prompted to pay during the booking process, either via credit or debit card, or via PayPal.

What will happen next?

After you have booked your video call or session you will receive a confirmation email. Here you will find the Google meet link for the session next to where it says “Where”. This will also be sent in your reminder emails. I usually send an email to say hi and to let you know anything you might need for the call ahead of time. But really all you need is yourself, a stable internet connection, and a private space.

Sometimes people book by email or WhatsApp and after getting in touch I will ask you to fill out a client details form so that I can learn more about you and how I can help. If you are booking an in person session we’ll find a time for your first session and we’ll arrange your weekly slot, your session time will be the same time each week.

Therapy sessions occur weekly and are 50 minutes per session, although deviations from this are sometimes arranged, say if you need a shorter or longer weekly session, fortnightly sessions, or bi-weekly sessions. Please note that I may not be able to facilitate in person fortnightly or bi-weekly sessions because I have limited availability. I am always happy to try and fit you in though.

How long will I need sessions for?

This really depends on what you are coming to therapy about. I recommend a minimum of 12 sessions. This is so that we know each other a bit better and we can understand and work through what is going on for you. Most people have therapy for longer. I have worked with some clients for over a year. Embracing Emotions’ door is always open; for example if you’ve had some sessions and a while later feel like you’d benefit from some more, you’re welcome to come back. People return to counselling at various points in their lives. Sometimes we need a top up - therapists do the same, similarly to how dentists see dentists and doctors see doctors. Your mental health is important.
