What type of therapist are you?

I am an integrative therapist, meaning I use a few different theories as oppose to just one. This enables me to be flexible; I am mainly informed by the following approaches: humanistic, psychodynamic, short term brief therapy, cognitive behavioural therapy and gestalt. If you would like to learn more about these approaches you are welcome to ask me about them.

I am proud to be a neurodiversity affirming therapist. I am easy to talk to and work in a supportive way to explore what's currently going on for you. By talking things through we can find ways to help you feel more grounded and settled.

“Emily showed great skill and care building a trusting therapeutic relationship with our teenage son and supporting him to engage with a range of difficult issues, including those relating to his (late-diagnosed) autism. I’d recommend Emily unreservedly.”

What can you help with?

Counselling can help with many different problems. From relationship difficulties, parenting stress and burnout, to social anxiety and grief. Therapy provides a space to talk through what’s impacting you and supports you in finding better ways to deal with life’s challenges. It is also a form of personal development, in that it’s not just a place to come when you’re at your lowest; you may feel stable but want to improve your emotional intelligence and assertiveness.

Would you prefer online therapy?

Do you want to have therapy from the comfort of your own home? Stuck at home for medical reasons? You can avoid travel or parking costs by working online. Or maybe you travel a lot and would like to access therapy whilst you’re away.

Online therapy is far more convenient and studies show it’s just as effective as in person therapy. You may find it easier to share things with people online, there’s more anonymity.

Here I am in my online therapy room. Use the button below to book a free initial call, this enables you to see how we get on and to ask any questions you may have.

Location & Hours

My room is easily accessible from much of Surrey and South West London, including Kingston upon Thames, Tolworth, Thames Ditton, Esher, Chessington, New Malden, Wimbledon, Twickenham, Hounslow and Richmond. It is conveniently close to Surbiton train station and the bus stops.

I work online within the UK and internationally in certain circumstances.
